Ryan Taylor is a triathlon coach who specializes in working with short-course athletes. With a background in swimming, Ryan is especially adept at helping athletes overcome one of the most daunting aspects of triathlon. He does this with individualized 1-on-1 coaching both in-person and remotely.
With a background in competitive swimming since the age of 8 years old, Ryan specializes in swim coaching and helping athletes master technique, whether they’re pursuing triathlon or single discipline swimming events. Ryan is based in Columbus, Ohio, and works with athletes locally and online.
Credentials & Expertise:
I specialize in short-course (sprint and Olympic distance) triathlon events. The swim is my favorite leg, and I can teach athletes how to get the most out of this often-underappreciated part of their race!
- USAT Level 1
- USA Swimming Certified Coach
Coaching Dynamic Preferences:
Whatever works best for the athlete, although for swimming (especially technique!) I prefer in-person.
Background:
I participated in 13 years of competitive swimming, from when I was 8 years old up through college in 2014. I began competing in triathlons in 2016, which was also the same year I began coaching college swimming.
I have coached college swimmers, age group swimmers, and adults learning to swim as both a life skill and a competitive skill. I was invited to USA Triathlon Nationals this year, and currently work with the Upper Arlington Swim Club age group team in Columbus.
