Rich Parker was a competitive swimmer as a kid and later progressed to surf-lifesaving. This provided an excellent entry into the world of Open Water Swimming and eventually triathlon.
Rich discovered triathlon in 2012 and has competed regularly ever since, including Triathlons, Aqualon’s, Cycle Sportives, and Open Water events. In 2015, he started on a path to become an accomplished triathlon and swim coach, specializing in Sprint and Olympic distance athletes.
Swimming is still his strength as evidenced by regularly gaining podium places in Age Group events and being part of the Fastest Mixed Team Channel Relay of 2021.

More About Rich
I have coached Triathlon since 2015. I particularly enjoy introducing people to the sport, and I have worked with both Juniors (8-15 years) and Adults. I am very observant and patient and enjoy unlocking the potential that we all have. I have seen Triathlon help with mental and physical health and develop confidence and that gives me great satisfaction.
I think workouts should be fun and varied and never feel like a chore – I love to use my natural creativity to ‘mix things up’ so my athletes remain engaged. I have seen too many athletes bogged down by injury and a cornerstone of my approach is to ensure that training is carefully adapted around existing injuries to allow them to heal.
My business Fit Visual Coaching has a strong focus on beginner and intermediate athletes and delivers very affordable coaching. I have a background in biological science and communication and I ensure there is a strong scientific base for everything we do. However that does not mean a lot of complexity, athletes need clear goals and structure and I think too much measuring and assessing can get in the way so I ensure that we measure what we need to.
